Sylvia C. Barnette

Sylvia C. Barnette, 59, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, surrounded by her loving family Monday, December 29, 2008, after suffering from a heart attack on Christmas day, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Sylvia was born on September 14, 1949 in Dell, AR, the daughter of Jose T. and Maria L. Quiroga Riojas. On May 26, 1982 in Port Clinton, OH she married Cecil Barnette and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1995. Sylvia worked as a caregiver. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Sylvia was active in the Gypsum Day Reunion and enjoyed singing. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Parents: Jose T. Maria L. Riojas of Port Clinton, OH; Daughters: Loria Nick Isaac Barnette of Port Clinton, OH and Mary Jo Stephen Ziemke Barnette of Fremont, OH; Grandchildren: Preston Jennings, Shelby Jennings, Sylvia Willin, Carmen Willin, Amber Willin and Angelena Ziemke; Siblings: Carmen Kenneth Kurtz of Port Clinton, OH, Josie Riojas of San Antonio, TX, Gloria Raul Armendariz of Mississippi, Irene Steve Solis of Port Clinton, OH, Norma Chuck White Riojas of Port Clinton, OH, Joe A. Rene Riojas of Sandusky, OH and Donna Paul Hopfinger of Port Clinton, OH; many loving nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, sisters: Patricia Ann Riojas and Janie Snell. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM, Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father John Missler, Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH.
