Sylvester Wcislak

December 22, 1936 — December 8, 2010

Sylvester Paul Wcislak was born on December 22, 1936. He grew up in the Polish Village, Toledo, OH. His parents were Mary and Joseph Wcislak and he has 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Syl graduated from Woodward High School and served in the U.S. Army 1960-1966. His life experiences shaped his values in life. This, along with his sense of humor and ambitions, created the wonderful many that he was. The love of his life was Marilyn. They were partners through all the ups and downs of life, love and family. Multiple times, they faced what seemed to be insurmountable challenges, yet together they not only survived, they thrived. Their life together had many blessings including over 51 years of marriage and five children, Patrick, Sandra, Joseph, Kristine and Martin. Sylvesters unquestionable work ethic and drive to provide for his family were hallmarks of his character. Syl goes on to be with Marilyn who went before him not so long ago. Rest now dad while we work our way through life using the examples we learned from you and mom. Visitation will be on Sunday today from 2-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Street Mission, 105 17th Street, Toledo, OH 43604.
