Suzanne Easton Steele Mueller died July 20, 2008. She was preceded in death by her first husband Fred Edward Steele Jr., her second husband Kenneth Marshall Mueller, her son Fred Edward Steele III, and his wife Karlyn Thygessen Steele. She is mourned by her children, Paula Rustin Steele Levenson Randal Levenson, Thomas Easton Steele, and Marcia Carol Steele Lynn Haney; her grandchildren Moss Easton Levenson Rachel Webster, Cormac Ryder Levenson, and Geddes Steele Levenson; and her newly born great-granddaughter Hero Daniel Levenson. She is also survived by her step-sons Marshall and Rand Mueller and their wives and children. She leaves behind many devoted nieces and nephews, descendents of her beloved late sisters, Margaret Easton Seney and Mary Easton Corbett. Suzanne was born in Toledo to James Robert Easton and Hulda Louise Nichols Easton in 1921. She was a graduate of Maumee Valley Country Day School and of Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts. After traveling the country with Fred, a navy Flier during World War II, they settled and raised their family in Toledo. Suzanne was an active volunteer in the community, serving with the Junior League and the Toledo Day Nursery. She received special pleasure from her work with the Toledo Museum of Art, volunteering for many years as a Docent. In 1982 she moved to New York City with her second husband, Ken, returning to Toledo in 1986. During this time, with several friends from her class of 1943, she co-edited the cookbook To Serve with Class to raise funds for Wellesley College. Suzanne spent 86 summers in Lakeside, Ohio where she was on the Board of Trustees for many years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Toledo Club. Until this year she was active in two book groups, a bridge group that played together for over 60 years, and at the Toledo Museum where she served as an Aide. Suzannes unfailing kindness and generosity as well as her sense of humor will remain an inspiration to her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 2315 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH, at 3:00PM on Sunday, August 24, 2008. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to the Toledo Symphony Orchestra or to the First Congregational Church to preserve the Tiffany windows. Arrangements have been handled by the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
