Suzanne C. Haynes, age 88, passed away on November 29, 2024. Suzanne was born on June 15, 1936, to Chester and Mayme (Swistara) Scripp. She was a lifelong resident of the Toledo area and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1954.
On October 6, 1956, Suzanne married Francis Haynes. They were together for 51 years until his passing in 2008. Her true calling was at home, where she devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. Suzanne was a member of the Toledo Craftsman’s Guild for 48 years. She was a board member and treasurer for most of that time. She crafted a variety of sewn items. A talented seamstress, Suzanne crafted clothes for her children in their early years, each stitch a testament to her love and care. Suzanne also worked at Minnesota Fabrics for several years
Suzanne loved spending time in her flower garden as a place where she could nurture beauty and find peace. She also found joy in reading, and cherished the simple pleasures in life, like taking long, warm baths. Suzanne's home reflected her meticulous nature, always clean and neat. She also loved her dogs, always having two, usually a dachshund or schnauzers. She and Francis also liked to vacation in Fort Meyers, Florida until his passing.
Being of Polish decent, she enjoyed going to festivals and listening to Polish music (Polkas). Suzanne made Pierogis for Christmas Eve dinner, a tradition that she continued from her childhood and going over to her Aunt Stella’s on Christmas Eve. Suzanne will miss her frequent phone conversations with her sister-in-law Dorothy Scripp, the two of them would talk a couple of times a week.
In all Suzanne’s activities, the family was at the center. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and many others. Her family will remember her for her generosity, hard-working spirit, and most importantly her love for those around her.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Francis Haynes. She is survived by her children, Timothy (Jessica) Haynes, Kelly (Jim) Kaser, Kevin (Kristen) Haynes, and Todd (Mary Jean) Haynes; grandchildren, Emma Haynes, Braden Haynes, Caitlin (Ryan) Barunas, Drew (Meagan) Kaser, Lindsay (Jonathan Alsip) Haynes, Shelby Haynes, Sienna Haynes, and Sydney Haynes; great-grandchildren, Logan Barunas, and two others on the way; and brother, Lawrence (Dorothy) Scripp; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
