Suzanne L. Grosjean, known as Sue, Susie, and Mom to many, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1945 in Oak Harbor, Ohio, to the late Gilbert and Betty (Ray) Lacumsky. Sue had just celebrated her 81st birthday.
She was born and raised in Oak Harbor, but spent 20 years living in Bellevue, Ohio. She decided to move back home to be closer to her family.
She married Rollin "Ron" Grosjean on November 23, 1988, and he survives.
Sue never met a stranger and everyone loved her generous heart. She loved kids and raised many as her own as she babysat in her home. After babysitting for many years, she went to work as a cocktail waitress at Edgar's. She then moved on to work at the Trading Post before becoming a Nurse Aide at Edgewood. She retired from Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, after serving people for her entire life.
Sue was so much to so many, daughter, sister, mom, wife, caregiver, biker mama, beloved co-worker wherever she worked. No matter how and when you knew her, she was always the same - loved.
Sue tried her hand at all sorts of crafts and interests. Through the years she did many popular crafts and she was always learning something new. Sue inherited her mom's green thumb and loved to keep house plants in her earlier years. In her later years she liked colorful fish in the tanks that her son kept. While Sue loved colors, purple was her favorite. She wore purple often and in her later years, it went well with her white hair. She loved colorful butterflies and many decorated her home.
Sue loved her dogs, and they will miss her dearly, especially Chupie. Another thing she loved was sweets and she really enjoyed a good Taffy or watermelon and strawberries. Another thing Sue loved was the "Red Lobster" biscuits that Nick would make.
She is survived by her husband Ron, and children, Deb (Jamey) Gladden, Cheryl (Kevin "Chicken" Lakner) Gladwell, Tony (Cis) Ehrman and Nick Grosjean. Also surviving are her brothers, Paul (Ginny) Lacumsky and Don (Andrea) Lacumsky. Sue is also survived by her several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Betty Lacumsky, and her brother Wilbur Lacumsky.
Lastly, a letter from the family;
We would like to say a special thank you to Melissa Brant for caring for mom these last hard weeks of her life. While mom was on hospice, you and Nick helped keep mom comfortable and cared for. You gave us peace of mind that she wasn't alone. We will forever be thankful.
Services for Sue will be held privately for her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted in Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Oak Harbor, Ohio.
