Browning Suzanne Mary Barth Suzanne Mary Barth Browning, age 82, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Born July 31, 1925 in Syracuse, NY to Elmer J. and Gladys Frink Barth, Suzanne was a resident of the Toledo area for over 65 years. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and Denison University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. Suzanne married Robert W. Browning on June 28, 1947 and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Her many interests included tennis, bridge, fishing, and golf. Robert and Suzanne had been members at several area clubs including Highland Meadows Golf Club, Brandywine Country Club, and Belmont Country Club. They were also members of Stoneybrook Country Club in Sarasota, FL where they lived for the past 12 years, and of Slagle Trout Club of Mesick, MI. A longtime volunteer at the Toledo Museum of Art and Meals on Wheels, Suzanne also assisted at the Collectors Corner and in fundraising for United Appeal. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Robert W. Grace Browning, Jr. of Sarasota, FL, David B. Claire Browning of Toledo, Thomas J. Nancy Browning of Sacramento, CA, and Elizabeth M. Philip Hopkins of West Hartfort, CT; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Eric Krall of Wauseon, OH, Amy Kevin Phillips of Columbus, OH, Grant Browning of Boca Raton, FL, Taylor Browning of Sarasota, Elise Hopkins and Abigail Hopkins of West Hartford, Blake Browning and Nicole Young of Sacramento, Christopher Seiple of Toledo, Julie Matthew Kirby of Olmsted Twp., OH, and Alison James Guddy of Avon Lake, OH. There are also 10 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of the nurses and aids from Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota, FL. There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota, FL, or Christ Presbyterian Church. Arrangements made through the Walker Funeral Home.
