Susan F. Wortham affectionately referred to as Sue, was born April 9, 1949, to parents Jack Prather and Mary Prather. Sue was born in Toledo, Ohio at Mercy Hospital. She attended Roy C Start Highschool. She was a devoted mother of 2 to her oldest daughter Mary Lawson and youngest daughter Jennifer Haynes. She was an awesome Grannie to Kennedi Lawson, Quinton Haynes, and Noah Robinson. Sue was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years which included her title change from LPN to RN to BSN. She enjoyed her nursing floor career in surgery at Parkview Hospital until she went to the surgery department at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center (SVMMC). SVMMC is where she ended her career and retired in the Cardiovascular department. Sue extended her love of nursing outside the hospital where she gave her time in the Dominican on mission trips and volunteering to be a support for the Honor Flight attendees. Sue had a passion for traveling that was evident in her career, personal life and family life. As a world traveler she visited destinations that included: Hilton Head for the Tennis matches she loved to watch, Florida, Atlanta Georgia for the 1994 Olympics, Washington DC, West Virginia, Germany, Japan, and Colorado. In addition to her work family Sue also spent time with her immediate family and bonus family. Sue had a very caring, nurturing, and generous spirit and she enjoyed trips to Disney World with her children. Sue also recently found love with her significant other Dr. Steven Habusta who then completed her life.
Sue Wortham was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Prather. Susan is survived by her daughters: Mary (Jasin) Lawson and Jennifer Haynes; sister, Anne (Burt Thelander) Prather-Thelander, significant other, Dr. Steven Habusta; niece, Laura Thelander; grandchildren, Kennedi Lawson, Quinton Haynes, and Noah Robinson. Also survived by her bonus family, John and Cheryl Wortham; and a loving circle of friends and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Toledo, OH 43623, on February 8, 2025, at 12 pm, where the visitation will begin at 11 am.
