Susan Irene Tucker age 65, born in Toledo, Ohio on June 5, 1957. Preceded in death by mother, Melba Irene Mays, father Hubert Vaughn Mays, brother, Gary Mays, step-mother, Nancy Mays and mother-in-law, Darles Tucker.
Susan was married to Jeffrey for over forty years. They made a beautiful life together bringing up their two children, Andrew Tucker (Emily) and Lindsay Spohn (Brian). Susan’s three grandchildren, Aubry, Knox and Maddox Spohn brought great joy and happiness to her life.
Susan owned and rode horses most of her life as they were her “therapy”. She wanted to share this love of animals with others and became a Monroe County 4-H leader for several years. She then branched out and became a certified therapeutic riding instructor and mentor through Path International to further share her love for horses and disabled riders. Some of her greatest accomplishments were breaking through to an autistic rider and helping riders become independent riders.
Susan had the biggest heart for animals and took in whatever animal needed a home. She spent a lot of her free time caring for her small farm of horses, goats, chickens, dogs and cats.
At the time of her death, Susan was surrounded and embraced by her loved ones.
