Susan Ada Smotherman

Susan Ada Smotherman was born on March 25, 1942 in Canton, Ohio. She was the daughter of Marie Iilene Apollo and James Glen Robinson. She moved to Michigan as a young girl and graduated from Hazel Park High School. She married John Smotherman on June 23, 1962 and worked in various jobs for the first years of their marriage. In 1969, John and Susan started Plastex Industries, Inc., where she would work for the next 48 years. She loved golfing, travelling, running, reading, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Stacey (Paul) King and Courtney Smotherman; her sisters, Joan Robinson and Delores Concato; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She will be incredibly missed by all. Visitation will be held Friday August 9 from 3-7 at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537, (419) 893-7686. Services will be private. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
