Susan Lea Shrock, age 74 died peacefully of complications of COVID-19 on January 2, 2021 at Continuing Care Facility, of Milan where she was a long-time resident. Susan (Sue) was born on March 28, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles L. Shrock and Nina Eloise Weber Shrock. She attended Danbury Township School in Lakeside Ohio and received her GED. Sue is survived by children, Laura (Carstensen) Devore of Sarasota, Florida, Philip Carstensen (Jody) of Port Clinton, Raechel Conn of Cottageville, West Virginia and Eric Conn of Virginia; former spouses Larry Carstensen and Arthur Conn; sister Kathy Shrock Walker (Danny) of Hernando Florida; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by son, Martin Carstensen, a brother Richard and parents. While she suffered from mental illness throughout her life, she also found enjoyment. She spent a lot of time creating oil and acrylic paintings becoming a talented artist. She once painted a portrait of the late Princess Diana, then sent a photo to Prince Charles who sent her a nice thank you note. Sue was a kind and generous, loving person and was known for having a good memory. She could remember events that others had long forgotten. In her later years, she enjoyed friends and care givers at the nursing home and being with family. The family would like to thank the staff of Continuing Care of Milan and guardian, Ed for their care. Sue will be missed. Funeral services for Sue be held virtually only by the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH 10:00 a.m., Friday January 8, 2021 with burial to follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Danbury Township. A Facebook Live broadcast of the service will be available through the Walker Funeral Homes Facebook page or the broadcast will be on Susan’s tribute page on the funeral home website after the live broadcast is finished and available for future viewing The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to NAMI and Catholic Charities or another charity of choice.
