Susan Marie Monaghan

Susan Marie Monaghan passed away peacefully in her home on December 22, 2021. Sue was born to the late Melvin and Virginia (Van Karson) Van Etten in Toledo on March 15, 1951. She attended Toledo Whitmer High School, class of 1969, and later served her community as an LPN, working in the Residency program at ProMedica Flower Hospital for many years. Sue was a sweet, caring, and selfless woman who always wanted to take care of others. She had a special love for all things crafty and could always be found watching the birds or sneaking treats to the neighbor’s dogs. Her flower garden was her pride and joy to which she dedicated many hours (as well as her special grand dogs). Sue had had a deep appreciation for her family, always placing them first in her life. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Francis “Pat” Monaghan; son, Kevin Monaghan; brother, Ronald (Kathleen) Van Etten; sisters, Sharon (Bob) Thomas, Sandy Traczyk; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Services were held privately for her family. Contributions in her name are suggested to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
