Summer Jean Dodson

Summer Jean Dodson, age 46, passed away August 10, 2023 at home.

Summer personified her namesake season. Genuine, funny and loyal, she brought sunshine and warmth into the lives of those she loved. Even in her worst moments, Summer was concerned about what others may be going through and how she could make things brighter.

Summer loved fiercely – her parents, her husband, Rob, but above all, her three sons – Charlie, Caleb and Chase. Summer was their biggest and most loyal fan – attending every one of Charlie’s lacrosse games and Caleb’s baseball games and fostering Chase’s entrepreneurial spirit. She encouraged the boys to do what they love, and she loved watching them thrive.

Summer was a force – smart, strong-willed and steadfast. A true inspiration to everyone she came in contact with.

She is survived by her husband, Rob Dodson; children, Charlie, Caleb, and Chase Dodson; parents, Dave and Teri (Jobert) Nodine; brother, David (Jennifer) Nodine; sister, Alisha (Dan) Fessel; father and mother-in-law, Dick and Esther Dodson; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Alex) Jankiewicz, Sue (Walt) Moran, and Becky (Matt) Volle; brother-in-law, Rich (Beth) Dodson; many nieces, nephews, countless friends; and beloved black lab, CJ.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 3-6 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. The funeral service will follow at 6 pm.
