Sue Anteau

Sue Anteau was 80 years old when she passed away at Mercy St. Anne’s Hospital on Saturday, June 19, 2021, surrounded by family who loved her and will miss her dearly. She was a strong person who bravely battled ovarian cancer off and on for over 13 years. Sue loved hosting family holiday gatherings and was a dedicated fan of the Toledo Rockets men’s basketball team for many years. Sue also enjoyed reading, walking, and spending time at the family cottage. She and her husband, Robert Anteau, owned and operated Schorlings Market from 1980 to 2016. Sue is survived by her children, Stephen, Diane (Jim); grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah; grand dog, Burt; and grand cat, India. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 2201 Secor Road, Toledo, OH 43606, until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Many thanks to the nurses, doctors, oncology department, and staff at St. Anne’s Mercy Hospital for their loving care of our mother, and a gracious thank you to Pastor Kristen Hunsinger and Pastor Kevin Maxey for their faithful support. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hope Lutheran Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were handled by Walker Funeral Home, Toledo (419-841-2422).
