Steven Leroy Wilkins

Steven L. “Taco” Wilkins, 67, of Oak Harbor passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 1, 1956 in Port Clinton, OH to Cleo L. and Marjorie E. (Flora) Wilkins. He graduated from Oak Harbor High School and the Penta Career Center in 1975. On October 26, 1979 in Oak Harbor he married Donna J. Hanney, and she survives. Steve worked as a mechanic for Standard Products in Port Clinton for 17 years and then drove truck for Cassen’s in Detroit, MI for 18 years.

Steve enjoyed fishing, shooting clubs, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling with family and friends. He was a “Toussainter” from Carroll Township. Steve loved to laugh and joke. He enjoyed doing pranks on the kids growing up, including a few snipe hunts. Steve loved animals. He had raccoons, parrots, and various birds. His taking the kids tubing on Lake Erie was one of the things the family will always cherish.

In addition to his loving wife of over 44 years, Donna, he is survived by his children, Angie (Scott Brackett) DeLong, Kenneth L. (Rachel) Wilkins, Stephanie Wilkins, Jason Wilkins, and Mandy Coomes, grandchildren: Cody, Cameron, Connor, Chance, Millie, Crystal, Archie, Andy, Olivia, Ava, Alexis, Haley, Zachary, and Maddie, 7 great grandchildren, brother Gary (Martha) Wilkins, nephews, James Hanney, William Hanney, and Eric Wilkins, niece, Jennifer Wilkins, and great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Craig Wilkins, brother, Kenneth A. Wilkins, brother-in-law, James Hanney, grandparents, Wilson and Mabel Wilkins, and his father & mother-in-law, Donald and Geraldine (Meachem) Hanney.

Private services will take place with interment in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township. Memorial contributions in memory of Steve can be given in care of the family.
