Steven C. Snider, Sr.

January 13, 1950 — July 29, 2024

Steven C. Snider, Sr., 74, of Clay Center, Ohio, passed away at his home, on Monday, July 29, 2024. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on January 13, 1950, the son of Fred and Ruth (Blue) Snider. Steve married Sharon (Schaffner) Snider on May 3rd, 1969. They were happily married for fifty-five years. They lived in Monroe, MI and then moved to New Knoxville for 29 additional years. Steve and Sharon recently moved to Clay Center, Ohio, where Sharon remains.

Steve was employed with Chrysler Corp. beginning in 1969 until his retirement 1989 from the Chrysler Trenton plant in Michigan. Steve also served in the Army motor pool for 2 years from 1969-1971 and during his service he was deployed to Okinawa, Japan.

Steve’s faith was extremely important to him. Serving as an usher and security at Only Believe Ministries. Steve and Sharon also served together as greeters. He was an integral part of the church family for over 20 years and will always be remembered for his “Amen’s” during any church service. Steve was not shy about his faith, sharing the gospel with anyone he encountered regardless of where they were.

Steve also enjoyed spending time in his wood working shop making many heirloom pieces for his family. He was very talented with wood craft. Steve also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved to be out on the water. Steve would buy fire ball candies by the gallon enjoying all of them. He also enjoyed ice cream.

Steve loved to spend quality time with his family, sharing stories about his children and grandchildren. Prayer was very important to him, not one meal would begin without a prayer taking place. Steve and Sharon always spent time together outside, planting flowers, and gardening. In the fall they enjoyed canning all the items they had grown in their garden. Steve loved all his cowboy tv shows, often watching them for hours. He was very personable and could talk to anyone, about anything, anywhere. He had a presence to him, that will be very much missed. He was a man of many talents. If you had a question or needed help with your car, he would not hesitate to jump in and help. He was always willing to provide spiritual guidance to anyone in need. He would literally give you the shirt off his back.
