Steven J. Schoch, Sr., age 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at University of Toledo Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Steven was a 1971 graduate of Rogers High School and went on to join the United States Army in 1971, during the Vietnam era, and served 4 years of military service. Later, Steven began his employment with Johnson Controls, in Holland, Ohio, and retired after nearly 24 years of employment. Steven enjoyed sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also took great pride in his many years of coaching both youth baseball and youth football teams. Steve enjoyed NASCAR racing, especially watching Chase Elliott, fishing, and playing Euchre. Steven was known to be a jokester. He had an amazing sense of humor and could easily make anyone laugh with his quick wit, sayings, and riddles. Most of all, Steven cherished every minute and moment he spent with his family. Being the patriarch, supporting and providing for his family was his number one importance in life. Steven will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Steven John Schoch, Sr., was born on October 3, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Charles H. and Helen J. (Derr) Schoch. Steven married Gloria (Edwards) Schoch on December 10, 1981, and she survives after over 41 years of marriage.
In addition to his loving wife, those surviving include, daughter, Sue Tulp; sons, Steven (Rachel), Jr., Shane, and Scott Schoch; grandchildren, Brandon (Tony), Bruce, Ethan, and Eden; and one brother, Robert (Lori) Schoch-Mann. Steven is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen, and Theresa; and two brothers, Charles, Jr., and Frank.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 4:00-8:00PM at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.
