Steven J. Loos

April 14, 1946 — July 24, 2014

Steven J. Loos, age 68, passed away Thursday July 24, 2014 from complications following a 2012 bone marrow transplant for a rare form of Leukemia.  The son of John and Jeanne Loos, he was born April 14, 1946 in Toledo and spent his childhood in the Old West End.  Steve attended DeVilbiss High School, graduated from Start High School and attended the University of Toledo.  He was a boilermaker for Adam Loos Boiler Works, and later worked with his father both as a real estate consultant for the Toledo Area Metro-parks, and as an officer of Buyr Rep Realty.  In recent years, Steve worked independently as a remodeler, finish carpenter and cabinet maker.  Steve enjoyed fishing, auto racing, and car trips throughout Michigan and the Northeast.  Steve had an adventurous spirit, which led him to gold mining in California, as well as several lengthy canoe trips in northern Ontario. He is survived by his wife, Marsha; mother, Jeanne Deitrickson; brothers, Cary (Carol) Loos and Kirk C. Loos; stepbrothers, Bradley (Mary) Beasecker, Jeff (Sue) Beasecker and Peter (Liz) Beasecker; nephews, Adam and Sam Loos; step-children, Jacqueline (Paul Komisarek) Wilcox, Sarah (David) Latta; step-grandchildren, Emily Komisarek, Allison and Andrew Latta.  He was preceded in death by his father. There will be no visitation.  A private celebration of Steves life will be held at a later date.  Steves family would like to extended a deep sense of gratitude to Sue Beasecker, doctors and staff at the Cleveland Clinic Bone Marrow Transplant Program, and the doctors and staff of the Neuro ICU at Toledo Hospital, with special thanks to nurse Emilie.
