Steven E. Ellersick, 58, of Perrysburg passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH. He was born October 3, 1952 to Eugene G. and Audrey O. (Leslie) Ellersick in St. Louis, MO where on April 9, 1976 he was married to Patricia Freiberger. Steve began his lifelong career in computer programming with Sunnen Corp working with his father and brother and in 1986, after his graduation from Washington University with a B.S. in Computer Science, moved to Phoenix, AZ working for Honeywell. For the past 17 years, he was employed with Pilkington as a Global EDI Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors hiking and camping while leading the Boy Scouts of America. He was a gifted artist and musician who enjoyed photography, oil painting, playing the guitar and especially playing the drums. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Tricia” Ellersick; son, Chris (Laura) Ellersick of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Linda (Anthony Kranz) Ellersick of Missoula, MT and Sarah (Andrew) Marshall of Perrysburg, OH; mother, Audrey Ellersick and brother, David (Pat) Ellersick all of St. Louis, MO. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Sunday, August 28, 2011 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary in Perrysburg (419-874-3133) and after 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Avenue in Perrysburg with Pastor Ann Marshall officiating. Burial will be private. The family requests that friends and family honor Steve’s loving and giving spirit by carrying on his legacy in your own lives thru spreading random acts of kindness and words of encouragement to those around you.
