Steven Michael Drossel

Steven Michael Drossel, 45, died August 18, 2016 in his home in Woodville, Ohio after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Steve was born June 13, 1971 in Fremont, Ohio to Michael C. and Ruth M. (Hesselbart) Drossel. He was a 1989 graduate of Woodmore High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Journalism from the University of Toledo in 1996. Steve was a successful business co-owner of Drossco Custom Hardwood, a wood floor installation and refinishing company, with his brother, Brent Drossel. Steve was a true car guy and had a love for the Ford Motor Company. He had a passion for fast cars, especially Ford Mustangs. Steve loved to drive fast and was known for doing a smokey burnout in anything that had wheels! He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys and looked forward to football season every fall. Steve is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shelli (Kavander) Drossel, 18 year-old daughter, Sydney, 14 year-old son, Seth, mother, Ruth (Hesselbart) Drossel, brother, Brent Drossel, and many other wonderful family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Michael C. Drossel, paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Elaine Drossel, aunt, Nicole Drossel, and maternal grandparents, Warren and Florence Hesselbart. There will be a celebration of Steve’s life on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Elmore Legion Hall from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. for all of Steve’s family and friends. Private interment will be held at Westwood Cemetery at a later date.
