Steven James Crawford

Steven James Crawford, 69, of Graytown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at his home. Steve was born in Toledo, Ohio, September 27, 1957, to James and Donna (Rawson) Crawford. In 1975, Steve graduated from Bedford High School. Steve worked 37 years for Conrail, Penn Central, and Norfolk-Southern Railroads as a signal foreman, retiring in 2012. He dedicated 22 years to the Harris-Elmore Volunteer Fire Department, retiring at the rank of assistant chief in 2013. He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and classic cars- his Chevrolet Bel Aire & Corvette being his favorites. Steve was a trivia buff and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. His greatest love was spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his daughters, Allyson (Mick) Schnabel, and Kaitlyn (Justin) Kruse; grandchildren, Easton, Bryce, and Brynleigh Schnabel, and Cole Kruse; mother, Donna; siblings, Jenny Snow, Linda Gulvas, Dani (Bob) Kahl, Scott (Ashley ) Crawford, and Chirs (Kim) Crawford, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

A Celebration of Steve's life will be held at the Harris-Elmore Fire Station, 321 Rice Street, Elmore, Saturday October 31, 2026. A brief ceremony will begin at 11:00 am and continue until 2:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Steve's family.
