Steven P. Butler

August 16, 1967 — June 17, 2023

Steven P. Butler "BUZZ", 55, of Maumee, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Toledo Hospital. Steven was born August 16, 1967 to Henry and Christine (Tammarine) Butler.

He was the proud business owner of Steve's Drywall in Perrysburg for 30 years. His father taught him everything he knew about drywall. But Steve had the mindset for business. He loved that he built a business that not only supported him and his family but much of his extended family and many other drywall families as well. He employed many family members over the years. Starting with his wife and then moving on to his father, brother, sister, uncles, cousins, nephews and ending with his son when he was old enough.

Steve loved family and it was always important to him to be around family as much as he could. He loved having holiday gatherings and family get togethers at his house. He was such a role model and the leader of the family. He had many passions but his greatest accomplishment was his son. He loved him with every ounce of his being, without limits and unconditionally.

Steve had many passions. He loved riding his Harley, boating and coaching. On beautiful days he would take long rides with his buddies. He loved his new boat. He spent many weekends watching sunsets and enjoying the company of great friends. His greatest passion was coaching. He absolutely loved being a coach and he was great at it. Kids that he coached over 20 years ago and their parents still kept in touch. No matter what sport it was wrestling, baseball, football or softball he loved them all. It was a privilege for him to coach his son in baseball and football, and his nephews and his niece in softball at a world tournament. Thirty years ago he started his own mens softball team. They went through some changes over the years but he took the team to the world tournament and won it all! Those guys became not only players to him, but they became family and not only to him, but to the rest of his family as well. "3768 Drywall"

He also enjoyed fishing and music. He liked country music and live music, particularly performed by his cousin. Family and Friends were everything to Steve. He will be missed greatly and remembered for his selflessness, his fun and caring personality, his great bear hugs and his long talks he was so great at. "Buzzstrong”

He is survived by his son, Shane Butler; Shane’s mother, Lisa Butler; girlfriend, Holly Mikolajewski and her daughters, Hailey and Maggie; mother, Christine; siblings, Bernadine (Michael Holzemer) Butler, Amy (Mark) Masales, Melissa (Carlos) Liggins, Skye (Deke) Brower and nieces and nephews, Christopher (Molly) Butler, Jr., Brandon (Mallorie) Butler, Charles (Breanne) Mims, Kaitlyn (Devan Gardner) Kregulka, Johnathan Kregulka, Amber Ragland, Jasmyn Ragland, Jordan Wright, Ashley Wright, Kortney McCardell, John McCardell, CarVelle Liggins, CarVeze Liggins, Gracelyn Weasel and Alivia Brower and many great nieces and great nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Henry, brother, Christopher Butler, Sr., and nephew, Craig Chadwick.
