Sterling Wakefield Givens

Sterling Wakefield Givens, of Toledo, passed away February 27, 2012 at Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek. A native of Toledo, he was born on July 25, 1920 to Francis and Gladys Wakefield Givens. Sterling was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was employed by the Dana Corporation as a Technical Serviceman. He was a member of Conn Weisenberger American Legion Post, Danas 25 Year Club and Tadra Management Group. Sterling is survived by his children, David Gerri Givens of Toledo, Janet Tom Jacobs of Florida, and Jon Givens of Toledo; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Novak Givens; daughter-in-law, Rosalinda Givens; and sisters, Jane Louise Hammer and JoAnn Harmon. Family will receive friends at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Saturday, March 10th from 12 noon until 1:00 pm followed by interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
