Stephen Thomas Yoder

The family of Stephen Thomas Yoder, 47, is deeply heartbroken by his untimely death on November 30, 2022.

Steve was born to Scott Yoder and Colleen (Bueter) Yoder in Toledo, Ohio on September 27, 1975. He was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and an attendee of the University of Toledo where he studied business and psychology. Stephen worked many years as an insurance agent and later in catastrophe restoration. He cherished his role as a father above all else and was well known as being an avid Ohio State fan, a talented golfer, and a fantastic cook. Steve enjoyed boating with his family at Devil’s Lake and spending time with his many dogs over the years.

Survived by his loving children, Wesley and Amber Yoder, his adoring fiancee, Gemma Gomez, mother, Colleen Yoder, siblings Jason (Jennifer) Yoder, and Elizabeth (Ryan) LaPan, the mother of his children, April Kastel (Phil Hlass), uncles and aunts, Tom and Cindy, Suzanne, and Deb Yoder, Eric and Scottye Bueter, and Carrie Bueter, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Scott Yoder, grandparents, Charlie and Jackie Yoder and Jim and Betty Bueter, and Uncles, Chris and Jack Yoder.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43623 (419-841-2422) where a celebration of Stephen's life  and time of sharing will begin at 7:00 pm. Please share your favorite stories with his children.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 9:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 in Christ the King Catholic Parish, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, Ohio 43623. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
