Stephen J. Oravec Sr.

Stephen J. Oravec, Sr., 76, of Oregon, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 29, 1944 to the late Stephen and Mary (Sopko) Oravec. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Stephen worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years, serving at a few locations, and finishing his career at Station A in East Toledo. Stephen always enjoyed traveling around the United States, enjoying the many beautiful and historical sights our country has to offer, such as Yellowstone National Park and the historic Route 66. He also enjoyed reading science fiction books. Survivors include his daughter, Diana Oravec; son, Stephen J. Oravec, Jr.; and sisters, Jean LaPorte and Lucille Pattay. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private burial will take place in the Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, Ohio. Memorial contributions for Stephen may be made to the donor's choice.
