Stephen D. Lewandowski, 65, of Williston, Ohio, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, June 18, 2015, in Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. Stephen was born August 21, 1949, in Toledo to Stephen and Kathleen (Zimniczak) Lewandowski. He was an alumnus of the University of Toledo. Steve retired as a Lucas County Juvenile Probation Counselor in 2003. He was also a formerly elected Genoa Village Councilman. Steve was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed fishing and riding his bike. Steve is survived by his son, Major Stephen A. (Jiwon) Lewandowski of Williston and daughter, Joanna Lewandowski (fiancé, Jason Pardon) of Bowling Green, grandson, Henry Francis Lewandowski, sisters, Nancy (John) Stevenson and Elaine (Edward) Verkin, brothers, Michael (Cris) Lewandowski and Dan (Tracy) Lewandowski, and former wife, Carleen Cookie Arndt. His parents and brother, Ronald Lewandowski, preceded him in death. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, with a Parish Prayer Service held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 Main St., Genoa. Interment will take place in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. The family has suggested memorial contributions for Steve to go to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa.
