Stephen J. Hurrell

Stephen J. Hurrell, 66, of Oak Harbor passed away Sunday morning, April 22, 2012 at the Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness. He was born July 1, 1945 in Port Clinton, the son of Faye E. Zehner and James S. Hurrell. On May 23, 1966 he married Lois A. Schwert in Tecumseh, MI. Steve was a US Navy Veteran and an Iron Worker with Local 55, Toledo. He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid outdoorsman. Steve enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, photography and watching and caring for birds. Survivors include his wife: Lois, daughters: Dawn M. Von Sloma of Fremont & Amy L. J.D. Timmons of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Mason & Faye Sloma and John Timmons III; brother: Thomas Suzanne Hurrell of Oak Harbor, sisters: Karen James Wells & Vicki James Bloom both of Oak Harbor. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and nephew: Jeffery Hurrell. Private Family Services will be conducted at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the care of Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E Water St, Oak Harbor.
