Stephen A. Fitsko, Sr., age 72, of Holland, Ohio died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Toledo Hospital. He was born September 1, 1939 in Toledo to Steve and Bertha (Barror) Fitsko and on July 20, 1963 he married Joan M. Rymsza. He served his country in the National Guard as a Military Policeman and was later employed as a Machinist by Dana Corporation for 32 years. Stephen was a volunteer Fireman for the Springfield Township Fire Department and for Dana Corporation. He was a member of the Holland American Legion Post #646. In his spare time he enjoyed scuba diving, playing euchre and poker and fishing with his boys. Stephen was a genuine family man and was known by friends to be generous to a fault. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joan M. Fitsko; children, Lynn (Rex) Robbins, Stephen A. “Tony” (Sherrie) Fitsko, Jr., James (Coral) Fitsko and Katherine “Katy” (Mark) Cloutier; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Norman (Joan) Fitsko; sister, Louise (Frank) Stephens. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Bertha Fitsko; son, Michael Fitsko; sister, Carlene McComb as well as his infant brother, Dale. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-9 P.M. in Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879). Prayers will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 9:45 A.M. and proceed to Our Lady of Lourdes, Catholic Church located at 6149 Hill Ave. in Toledo for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Stephen’s name to the Holland American Legion Post # 646.
