Stanley R. Stucky

Stanley R. Stucky, 84, of Port Clinton, OH left this earth on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on December 27, 1924 in Defiance County, OH to Edward M. and Clo Rickner Stucky. On September 25, 1948 in Chicago, IL he married Josephine Steinbach and she preceded him in death on October 3, 1993. Stanley was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. Stanley worked for GNC Foundry in Sandusky, OH for 27 years, before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Homer D. Gardner VFW Post #2480 of Port Clinton, American Legion Post #113 of Port Clinton, and a member of the Moose Lodge #1610 of Port Clinton for over 17 years. Stanley was an avid card player and will be missed by his special friend Patricia Holly and his many friends at the Port Clinton Senior Center. Stanley is survived by his 9 daughters: Karen Robert Ruck of Illinois, Sharon John Hermes of Oak Harbor, Amy David Tucker of Fremont, OH, Julie Joe Walter of Port Clinton, Lora Randy Baumbarger of Plymouth, OH, Joy Douglas Allen of Port Clinton, Karla Ronald Chapman of Marblehead, Bobbi Cliffton Holycross of Marion, OH, and Jodi Douglas McClellan of Port Clinton; 21 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter: Ellen Marie Stucky, brothers: Roland, Orville, Edward, Karl, Joseph, and Richard; and 2 infant grandsons. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton with full military graveside rites. Memorial contributions may be given to the Port Clinton Senior Center or Stein Hospice.
