STANLEY C. SPANGLER Stanley Clifton Spangler, 97, of Holland died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Deshler, Ohio on January 28, 1919 to Edwin A. and Cosa (Peterson) Spangler and on March 25, 1942 he married Mabel Ann Marshall who survives. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. Stanley worker for Sharon Manufacturing for 20 years and he also farmed his family farm. A resident of Springfield Township for 74 years, Stanley was a Strawberry Festival volunteer over 30 years and had served as a Grand Marshall. He was a big Cleveland Browns and Indians fan and enjoyed wood working, crafts and gardening. He was also a former Little League Coach and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Maumee #2562. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Mabel Spangler, children, Della (Larry) Glenn, Butch (Marlene) Spangler, Berry Benyo and Keith (Micki) Spangler; grandchildren, Larry Dean (Chris) Glenn, Tim (Terry) Glenn, Stanley (Dawn) Spangler Jr., Andy (Lori) Glenn, Betsy (Ron) Rado, Scott Spangler, Tiffany (Wes) Hypes and Ryan Spangler; step grandchildren, Lisa (Kevin) Helminski, Julie (Edward) Reilly and April (Richard) Hackett; 18 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; sister, Emily Yunker-McMillian. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; Edwin and Cosa; son-in-law, Dennis Benyo; sisters, Mildred Hathaway, Edna Snell, Anna Martin, Gladys Geiser, Juanita Geiser, Evelyn Spangler; brothers, Emery, Johnny and Donald Spangler. Friends will be received on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 2-9 P.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Springfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Stanley to the Springfield Township Park Fund c/o Mike Hampton. His family would like to specially thank Melissa, Pam, Kelly, and Terry from Ebeid Hospice as well as his Promedica Doctors, Gopinath Upamaka and William Facey and Nurse Jane.
