Stanley Joseph Mylek

September 13, 1932 — October 8, 2020

Stanley Joseph “Stosh” Mylek, Jr., age 88, of Toledo, died October 8, 2020 at Flower Hospital. He was born September 13, 1932 in Toledo to the late Stanley Sr. and Martha (Andryczyski) Mylek. Stosh graduated from Central Catholic High School and served in the United States Navy as an operations technician, primarily in Japan. He was employed for many years as a carpenter with Nauman and Sons Construction and retired from The Toledo Hospital after suffering a brain aneurism at the age of 46. Stosh and his wife owned the Kold Keg Restaurant in Swanton for 28 years where he was well known for his cinnamon cheesecake and snicker doodles. He enjoyed his many trips over the years for treatment at the Hickman Center where their devoted and caring staff was like family. Stosh will be remembered for his delightful personality; always pleasant, easy-going, kind and thankful. Left to cherish his memory is his caregiver and beloved wife of 61 years, Bev (Fuller) Mylek; sons, Mark Mylek and Kevin Mylek (Kristy); grandchildren, Brandon Shortridge (Kristen), Caleb Mylek (Emily), Melody Dewalt (Ian), Kamerion and Kory Mylek; and five great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard. A memorial service to celebrate Stosh’s life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Westgate Chapel or The Hickman Center.
