Stanley F. Michalak

Stanley F. Michalak, age 80, a lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away November 13, 2017. He was born December 10, 1936 to the late Stanley and Lottie (Mendel) Michalak and graduated from Macomber High School in 1955. In 1957 he married his high school sweetheart Sylvia A. Gorzelski who preceded him in death in 2010. Stan was a professional carpenter working at Lumber Suppliers, Church’s Lumber and Michalak Custom Carpentry. In his retirement years he continued to enjoy woodworking as a hobby, spending time building furniture and restoring historic homes. He also enjoyed his 1953 MG but found his greatest joy in time spent with family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Stan will be lovingly remembered for his strength of will, caring and big hearted personality, as well as his integrity in always doing things the right way. He is survived by his sons and their wives, Scott (Tammy), Jeffrey (Martha) and Mark (Kimberly) Michalak; grandchildren, Devon, Morgan, Jonathan and Nathan; great granddaughter, Addrianna; and brother, Tom (Carol) Michalak. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.).
