Stanley James Brown, 85, of Rossford Ohio, passed away in his home on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024. He was born January 22,1939 in Rossford Ohio, to Arthur Eugene and Gladys Mae Brown.
He attended Rossford High School where he graduated in 1956 with a focus on industrial arts. He later attended the University of Toledo where he successfully earned an Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Technical Writing. His career focus was on technical writing with an extensive background in geology and chemistry. He held positions with Libbey-Owens-Ford in Rossford, Ohio and Columbia Gas in Green Springs, Ohio. Afterwards, he held two sole proprietorships for Brown Chemical Company, Inc. and S.J. Brown and Associates.
In addition to technical writing, he enjoyed debating with family members on diverse topics including spirituality, psychology, and politics. In the early 2000s, he provided information to include with the City of Rossford’s ‘Local History’ archive at Rossford Public Library.
He devoted three years to the US Marine Corps and three years to the US Army. He was a noncommissioned officer in southeast Asia in 1962.
He married Elizabeth May Hamilton in 1971, and the couple had one child. He lived in Rossford, Ohio most of his life.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Arthur Eugene, and Rev. Gladys Mae Brown; Cornelius Brown; Mark Elliot Brown; Eugene Clifford Brown; Timothy Brown; Divina Alexander.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth May Brown, and their son, Stephen Jibri Brown (Edward Slater). He leaves to cherish his memory brothers: Rodney (Doris) Brown, Sr.; Richard (Grace) Brown; Gilbert (Carrie) Brown, Sr.; Lawrence M. (Pamela) Brown. Also, his sisters Phyllis Campbell; Christine (Orlando) Maddox; Valerie (Michael) Murphy; and his extensive blended family Roger (Isabel) Kleopfer; Ronald (Laurie) Kleopfer; Rhonda (Larry) Chickeral; Mark (Katrina) Fincher; Cosette Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at the Walker-Sujkowski funeral home in Rossford, Ohio.
