Stanley C. Beck, 89, of Oak Harbor, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on March 22, 1927, in Oak Harbor to Edmund and Odessa (Bloom) Beck. On August 17, 1946, in Oak Harbor he married Sylvia G. Biggs, and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2000. Stan was a lifelong farmer and livestock hauler, who was known as “The Bullshipper”. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where he previously was a church council member, deacon, and played on the dartball team. Stan was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Fremont, the Eagles Aerie in Fremont, the Ottawa County Farm Bureau and enjoyed going to the Luckey Farmers Elevator for coffee. Stan is survived by his daughters, Paula (Norris) Schimming and Diane Rife, five grandchildren, Tim Schimming, Scott (Ann) Schimming, Eric (Diane) Schimming, Amy Patton, and Kim (Tommy) Hallett, nine great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and companion, Doreen McCann. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law, Kenny Rife, sister, Evelyn Beck-Sommer, and grandson-in-law, Jimmy Patton. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 12-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. David Hendricks at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions for Stan may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
