Skylar Dawn Lewis, age 8, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 3, 2013, at Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born October 25, 2004, in Toledo, to Donald Lewis, Jr. and Amanda R. Russell. She was a third grader at Genoa Elementary School, who loved everything about school including her teacher. She was an enthusiastic girl and was always at the front to do something. Skylar enjoyed riding her bike and swimming and even won a medal this year in bowling. She also loved going to her church, Grace Baptist Church, in Oak Harbor. Skylar touched lots of hearts and was loved by many, especially her grandparents, with whom she lived! Skylar is survived by her mother, Amanda R. Russell of Toledo, father, Donald Lewis, Jr., of Genoa, brother, Mason Lewis and sister, Makailyn Lewis both of Genoa, and her grandparents, Penny and Donald Lewis, Sr. of Genoa, and Rebecca Ritter of Toledo. She is also survived by her aunt, three uncles and cousins. Her grandfather, Doyle Russell, preceded her in death. The funeral service for Skylar will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Grace Baptist Church, 325 S. Toussaint Portage Rd., Oak Harbor, with two hours of visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends are invited for fellowship and luncheon at the church following the service. Burial will then take place at 2:30 p.m. in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials for Skylar be given to the Skylar D. Lewis Fund, c/o Genoa Bank, 801 Main St., Genoa, OH 43430. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
