Shirley May Zietlow

Shirley May Zietlow age 84 went to be with her Lord and Savior at her Perrysburg, Ohio apartment on January 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Toledo, OH on December 22, 1933 to Clark M. and Ruth G. (Dillworth) Brown. Shirley graduated with the Whitmer High School Class of 1951. She married Danny L. Nelson on March 1, 1952. She worked as a secretary, clerk, office manager, and was a secretary for the University of Toledo for many years. Shirley and Danny ran their business Nelson Crane Service. Her last jobs were with YMCA, Heartland , Cracker Barrel Restaurant. She was well liked, skilled at shorthand, typing and worked for many companies while an employee of the Kelly Girls. Shirley was devoted to her family. She attended the Toledo Gospel Tabernacle for decades and lived her life as a Christian. She helped the elderly and those in need. Giving to mission work was very important to her. Her favorite mission was Remember NHU. Her wit and smile , generosity will be fondly remembered. Her love for her family was what she cared most about. We thank God for all the wonderful memories of Shirley. Shirley is survived by her children, Dean A. Nelson, Ann M. (Ted) Evans, Robin A. (Brenda) Nelson; Step Sons, Bill (Kim) Zietlow, Carl (Sarah) Zietlow and Brent Zietlow; Grand children, William (Heather) Prentiss, Travis (Nicole) Nelson and Tami (David) Olin; Great grandchildren, Jacob and Timothy Prentiss, Emma, Katelyn, Jack and Charlie Olin, Savanna and Audrey Craddock (Nelson). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Rudolph J. Zietlow; first husband of 35 years and father of her children Danny L. Nelson; son in-law, William F. Prentiss and Step Mother, Virginia Brown. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:30 PM.
