Shirley Mae Reif, 91, of Oak Harbor, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Genoa Retirement Village. She was born on July 16, 1927 in Goshen, IN to Albert and Zela (Weaver) Place. On December 13, 1945 in Martin, OH she married J. Frederick “Joker” Reif, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. Shirley was the former owner/operator with her husband of the Blackberry Corners Tavern from 1956-1963. She also worked with her husband who owned J.F. Reif Seamless Gutter in Graytown, OH from 1977-1987 and at Ginger’s Fitness Forte, owned by her daughter for a number of years. Shirley was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, the Cooley Canal Yacht Club, and member and past president of the American Legion Post #114 Auxiliary of Oak Harbor. Shirley is survived by her son, Michael (Renee) Reif, daughter, Ginger Stayancho, grandson, Tracy (Sabrina and her daughter, Ellie) St. Clair, granddaughters, Joelle (Rob) Mullen, Shannon (Tony) Buder, and Danielle (Ron) Lajti, and great grandchildren, Taylor St. Clair, Cydney St. Clair, Ripley St. Clair, Remi Gregory, Porter Gregory, Sawyer Buder, Karter Lajti, Karson Lajti, Eliza Mullen, and Stella Mullen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Wayne and Charles Place, son-in-law, Mike Stayancho, great granddaughter, Kaegan Mae Lajti, and special friend, Charles Avery. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown. Memorial contributions may be given in memory of Shirley to St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge or American Legion Post #114 Auxiliary, Oak Harbor.
