Shirley E. Nidy

Shirley Evon Nidy, 91, died peacefully on August 5, 2016 at The Garden House, memory care facility in Anderson, South Carolina. She was formerly a resident of Perrysburg Ohio and longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Shirley was born March 9, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Theodore and Caroline Mabel (Maloney) Anderson. She married Edward V. Nidy, Sr., on November 16, 1944 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2001. Shirley is survived by her children, Nancy (Richard) Ottensman, Ted (Laurie) Nidy, Sharron Nidy and Gerald Nidy; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Along with her husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by her sons, Edward V. Nidy, Jr. and James J. Nidy, as well as by her six siblings. Friends will be received on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. in Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. S. Boundary, Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Friday, August, 12, 2016 at 9:45 A.M. and proceed to St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, OH for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
