Shirley J Leggio

Shirley Jean (Greenawalt) Leggio passed away peacefully on June 19, 2014. She was born November 2, 1929 to Kenneth and Wilma Greenawalt. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker, but she did work part-time for several years in housekeeping at The Toledo Hospital. She will be remembered by many as the best fudge-maker ever born. She was an avid reader and loved to share her favorite books with family and friends. She married John Charles Leggio on December 2, 1946, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Charles Leggio III, on March 8, 2007. She leaves to cherish her memory as an exceptional mother, her daughter, Nancy (Tim) Villa; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Leggio; grandsons, Tim (Lindsay) Villa Jr., Anthony and Scott Leggio and granddaughter, Jennifer (Patrick) Spence; two great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters. Services will be private. Contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Area Humane Society, as she has had many pets that have held a special place in her heart.
