Shirley Doris Harris

Shirley Doris Harris, 80, of Toledo, passed away in her home on Friday, May 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 7, 1940 in Toledo to Richard and Pearl (Monday) Bare. Shirley married her loving husband, Robert, who preceded her in death in 2018. She was a proud woman with a “yes I can” attitude. She never let anyone tell her what she could or could not do – including being the first ever woman to play on an all men’s’ shuffleboard team. She enjoyed sewing and even made her own dress for several occasions. In her earlier years, she worked as a server at the Cousino Club and retail at Tops. She enjoyed cooking or sharing her knowledge and telling others how to cook. Shirley is survived by her loving children, Ron Harris, Kimberly (Chris Dorr) Kiefer; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jon), Stefani (Todd), Kolleen (Sean), Kati (Lucas), Haeli; sister, Linda (Larry); and beloved dog, Missy. In addition to her beloved husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen James, James Bare; and parents. No services will be held at this time.
