Shirley A. Engelman, 78, of Genoa, Ohio died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio. She was born in North Fairfield, Ohio to Christ E. and Edna (Haack) Knudsen on December 12, 1936. She married Richard Dale Engelman in Willard, Ohio on December 1, 1956 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1981. Shirley had worked at the former Latham’s Grocery in Genoa for many years and for over 10 years at Silgan Plastic Co. of Port Clinton, Ohio. Shirley was known as the “family photographer” who loved to take pictures of all the activities around her. Her favorite subjects were her family and friends. During her quiet time she enjoyed crocheting afghans and scarves for her family. She also enjoyed shopping when she was able to get out. Survivors include her children, Sandra K. (Gary) Dingeldein of Woodville, and Edward Engelman of Graytown, grandchildren, Rachel Wagner, Amber Dingeldein and Chrissy Weigel, great-grandchildren, Makayla, Blaine, Logan, Natalia Wagner, and Sawyer, Carver and Lincoln Weigel, siblings, Doug (Sandy) Knudsen, Phyllis (Joe) Duta and Sue (Jim) Gorman. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Loretta White. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2015, in the funeral home with interment will follow in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio.
