Shirley Elizabeth Brown

Shirley Elizabeth Brown, age 85, of Maumee passed away on Thursday July 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born on August 11, 1929 in Monclova, Ohio to John and Bernice (Snyder) McCabe. Shirley worked for Maumee Valley Memorials where she helped create the artistic work on the memorial stones. She loved to volunteer but was especially proud to volunteer for Riverside Hospital. She loved to garden and was a long time member of the Toledo Zoo. Most of all, she loved her family deeply especially her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her children, daughter, Patricia Angus of Maumee, son, Michael (Lesia) Brown of Golden, Colorado, son, Thomas (Katrina) Brown of Point Place, Ohio and Sherri (Todd) Nichols of Silver Lake, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Herb) DeRose; brother, John (Jennie) McCabe and dog, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman Joe and son, Gary Brown. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 12, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Springfield Township Cemetery, Holland, Ohio.
