Shirley Rae Dornbusch

Shirley Rae Dornbusch, 79, of Oak Harbor, died in her home Wednesday, February 3, 2010. She was born March 22, 1930, in Carroll Township to Emory and Violet Lacy Rice. On July 23, 1949, she married Nelson Dornbusch, who preceded her in death. Shirley was a homemaker and had managed the PX at Erie Proving Grounds and Floros Store. Shirley was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, where she had taught Sunday School. She was active on the Carroll Township History Committee and had been involved in the PTA and Cub Scouts. Survivors include her son, Paul Jeanette Dornbusch, and daughter, Jennie Rae Dornbusch, granddaughter, Heather Dornbusch, great granddaughters, Madison and Miranda Kerekes, sister, Maryl Pasch, and many loving family, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nelson Pete, sister, Caryl Geldien and brother, Wade Rice. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010, in St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, with interment to follow in Rusha Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. Memorials for Shirley may be given to Carroll Twp. EMS.
