Shirley A. Childers

Shirley A. Childers, age 69, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Ridgewood Manor Care Center. She was born February 21, 1942 in Toledo to Herbert and Lucille Monroe. Shirley was employed as a health care worker for many years with SwanPointe Care Center and Fairview Nursing Home. She was raised on a farm on Bancroft near McCord, and loved animals. Shirley also enjoyed fishing, cooking and going bowling with her husband. She was an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan. Shirley is survived by her children; Dawn Ron Ziethlow, Cheryl Childers, Sean Gwenn Childers and Jeff Jayna Childers; 10 grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Violet Reams and Denise Mullins. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, LeRoy Powers, Kenny Reams and Jim Mullins. Family and friends may visit Friday, March 4, 2011 from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee.
