Shirley Bradish passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Born May 26, 1930 in Canton, Ohio to Lester and Ruth Blanford Bixler who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Bill, and two brothers, Lester Jr. and Robert Bixler. She married Bill on April 13, 1952. She was a graduate of Ottawa High School in 1948 and from Evanston School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing diploma. She retired from West Central Medical group in 1993 after 25 years of service. Her family was very important to her and she dedicated much of her time to being a loving mother. She was always there for her family, whether it was being a room mother, den mother, or Girl Scout leader. She was her childrens biggest supporter of all of their activities. She was a former member of Pilgrim Church, served on many boards of the church, taught Sunday school and was a member of the bell choir, circle 8 and womens fellowship. She was a delegate for the Northwest Ohio Association of the United Church of Christ. She is currently a member of Sylvania United Church of Christ. She loved music and played the piano beautifully. Her hands were always busy, cross stitching, crocheting Christmas stockings for all of her grandchildren, quilting and sewing. She took enormous pride in her vegetable and flower gardens. Her love and support will truly be missed by all. Surviving are her children, Bill Christine, Sue Jim Corfman and Sally Bob Sparks; grandchildren, Jon, Lynne Todd Nidek, Jeff Sarah, Kristi, Andrew and Billy Orwig, Jason Katie, Justin, Joshua and Jordan Sparks; step-grandson Chris Corfman; great-grandchildren Molly Jane Schill; Logan and Kayla Nidek; Elizabeth and David Bradish; sisters Beverly Gene Zuccarini, and Betty Gene Feely, brother, Gary Marilyn Bixler, sister in law, Jane Don Roesler and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the ladies at Comfort Keepers and all the staff at Kingston, who gave all their love and care to Shirley. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Shirleys memory to the Alzheimers Association or to Sylvania United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 12:00 at Sylvania United Church of Christ, 7240 Erie St. Sylvania, OH. 43560, on Saturday, January 22nd with a memorial service to follow at 12:00pm.
