Shirley A. Adams, 91, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born March 8, 1935, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, and was the beloved daughter of Harry and Gertrude Eileen (Taylor) Stevens. She later married Robert Marion "Marv" Adams, with whom she shared a life filled with family, music, and cherished traditions.
Shirley had a deep love for country and bluegrass music, especially the songs of Dolly Parton Loretta Lynn. She enjoyed traveling with her family, particularly memorable trips to Nashville. In her quieter moments, she found joy in fishing and playing euchre with friends.
A devoted homemaker and gracious host, Shirley was known for organizing large Christmas celebrations, bringing together her extensive family. She was also an active member of the Ladies Aid Society at the former Clay Center Presbyterian Church. Shirley will be remembered for her warmth, her love of music and family, and the many memories she created with those closest to her
Shirley is survived by her sons, Robert (Margaret) Adams, Mark (Peggy) Adams, and Tom Adams; grandchildren, Eric Adams, Chad (Viviana) Adams, Ryan Adams, Christy (Robert) Wernert, and Tommy Adams; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Lanna, Madison, Ava, and Kylie; siblings, Jim(Marilyn) Stevens, Kay (Todd) Vance, and Karen (Charlie) Peck; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Joyce; son, Jeff; and brothers, Richard and Larry.
In accordance with Shirley's wishes, funeral services will remain private. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Robinson Walker Funeral Home, Genoa, is assisting the family.
