Sherry F. (Van Camp) Johnson, 87, formerly of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on May 31, 2024, while a resident of Brookview Long Term Care Center, Defiance, Ohio. She was born on November 22, 1936, to the late Laurel F. and Lucille (Kaylor) Van Camp, in Genoa. Sherry graduated from Genoa High School in 1954 and went on to attend Davis Business College.
Sherry was a press operator for Modine Manufacturing for 18 years, retiring in 2002. For many years, Sherry was the Avon Lady and sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry. She attended the Genoa Senior Citizens group and was a former member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Genoa. Sherry loved to talk and some would describe her as a real “hoot” as she could make anyone laugh with her antics. You never knew what she might say, but that was just the way she was!
She is survived by her children, Rex (Bruce) Sievert, Terry (Carrie) Sievert, Jay (Shawndel) Sievert, Jackie (Dan) Arps, Scotty (Shelley) Johnson, and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Sherry is scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home followed by interment in the Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the A.C.J.F.D., Station #36, 101 E.
