Sherry Beth Finken, 71, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness. She was born on February 19, 1951 in Port Clinton, OH to Clayton A. and Elizabeth M. (Leech) Renegar. Sherry graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1969. She worked most recently at the Civilian Marksmanship Program at Camp Perry, OH, which she regarded as her favorite of all the positions she held in her life. Sherry enjoyed shooting high power rifle competitively and was a State Champion in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio during the mid-90’s. Sherry was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. She loved horses, especially watching a 6-hitch team work together. After earning her motorcycle endorsement at age 50, Sherry bought a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 with a Screaming Eagle Package that she loved to ride. She always enjoyed living in Carroll Township, watching the wildlife in her yard, especially the deer, and she loved seafood. Sherry was a very loving person, with a lot of grit, especially through her illness. She was a fiercely loyal mother; very family focused, known to make a great Prime Rib and enjoyed decorating her home for holidays, especially at Christmas. Sherry became an avid Ohio State Football fan later in her life, and she especially loved TBDBITL, even after her son Clay graduated from OSU. Her favorite fall activity was watching OSU games with her family and friends.
Sherry is survived by her two sons, Clay (Adam Brady) Finken and Tony (Mary O’Leary) Tieman; 3 grandchildren, Aurora Belle Tieman, Aiden Burton, and Kenneth Wears; sister, Marilyn (Tom) Heim, and her longtime companion, Kent Floro. She was preceded in death by her parents.
