Sherman Carl French

Sherman “Sherm” Carl French, age 73, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Parkview Care Center in Fremont, Ohio. He was born on December 16, 1948 in Port Clinton to Arthur and Eleanor (Prokop) French. Sherman was a mason by trade and was a partner at Burr and French Masonry Contractors. He also worked as a custodian for the Port Clinton City School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Port Clinton.

Sherman is survived by his aunt, Dorothy Prokop; good friends, George (Joan) Hurrell; and was like an uncle to George Hurrell III and Joanna (Nicholas) Duquette, M.D.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Gerner-Wolf Walker Funeral Home. 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio with services to follow in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be directed to Immaculate Conception Church.
