Shelia J. White, 81, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Bellevue Care Center in Bellevue, Ohio. She was born on September 8, 1943, the daughter of Ray and Alice Howerth. Shelia was a 1961 graduate of Port Clinton High School. That same year, on August 19, she married the love of her life, Charles “Cliff” White. Together they built a warm and loving home filled with family, laughter, and cherished memories.
A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Shelia dedicated her life to caring for others. A proud stay-at-home mom, she found great joy in nurturing her family and often cared for her grandchildren and several neighborhood children as well.
Shelia always put her family first and asked for nothing for herself. She was known for her caring nature, and her great sense of humor. She found happiness in the simple things.
Her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed many years camping with family & friends. She traveled all around the United States. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, and taking drives with her husband, Cliff to look for white tailed deer. She also loved sitting on the front porch with Cliff and their dog, Bandit, watching cars and people go by. Shelia took every opportunity to talk family and friends into going to enjoy some ice cream.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Sam Howerth; sister Kathy in infancy; and son-in-law Tom Buckley.
In addition to her husband, Shelia is survived by her four daughters: Debbie Waggener (Denton) of Bolivar, MO, Amy Krupp (Mike) of Port Clinton, Tammy Heminger (Jerry) of Port Clinton, and Karen Overmyer (LJ) of Elmore, OH; 3 siblings: Pat Schraidt, Gary Howerth, and Dennis Howerth, all of Port Clinton; 7 grandchildren: Sarah Lancaster (Kyle), Samantha Buckley, Brady Krupp (Samantha), Nicholas Heminger, Ben Heminger, Hannah Overmyer, Blane Overmyer; 4 great-grandchildren, Olive Lancaster, Daly Lancaster, Eli Krupp, Maggie Krupp.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory may consider a donation to a charity of their choice.
The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton assisted the family with arrangements.
