Sharon A. Stonerock, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on April 25, 1945, Sharon lived a life full of compassion, dedication, and joy.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Marvin and Ruth Cutcher; her cherished grandmother, Amelia Kunz “Nana”; and her dear aunt, Dorothy Keller.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Harold E. Stonerock, whom she married on June 5, 1998. She is also survived by her son, John Christopher Cutcher; her siblings, John Michael “Mike” Cutcher (Elaine) and Barbara (Cutcher) Garcia (Roger); niece, Laura (Cutcher) Zylka (Derek); great nephews and niece, Donnie, Zachary and Audrey; and countless friends who became family through the years.
A lifelong learner and advocate for others, Sharon earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Family Counseling. She was a licensed Social Worker who dedicated 25 years of service to Lucas County Children’s Services, where she began as a secretary and rose to the role of Social Worker Supervisor. Her work touched the lives of many children and families, and her legacy of care and advocacy will not be forgotten.
Sharon’s passions extended far beyond her professional life. She was a proud member of the Manhattan Dance Studio and performed in the 2011 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She also competed with the Ballroom Company, showcasing her love for dance and performance. In retirement, she embraced Tai Chi, both practicing and teaching it, and volunteered at a local school to help children with reading.
She was an avid traveler, a talented quilter, and a voracious reader. Sharon and Harold found great joy in spending time with the young children of close family friends, who became like family to them.
Sharon’s warmth, wisdom, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her circle of friends was vast and filled with love—too many to name, but each one held a special place in her heart.
